Why I Love Shooting Weddings at Glyngynwydd

I have shot lots of weddings at Glyngynwydd, I love this venue and every time I get an enquiry for shooting at this venue, I get so excited and here’s why:

  • Glyngynwydd is located in the heart of Mid Wales, which means that it's surrounded by stunning scenery. The sunsets in Mid Wales can be glorious, and they provide a stunning backdrop for those important portrait shots, you will not be disappointed!

  • It is a blank canvas for couples to create their dream wedding, with its stunning natural surroundings and flexible facilities, Glyngynwydd can accommodate any theme or style. I always get super excited to see how my couples have decorated it and made it their ‘own’. Every single wedding has been different!

  • If you're looking for a festival vibe, rustic, bohemian, or even a vintage wedding, Glyngynwydd is the perfect setting for you. The main barn accommodates a large reception area with catering facilities if you wish to eat indoors, or with so much space outside if you choose to go down the festival route then there is so much space for catering vehicles – my fav’s are fish ‘n chips & freshly baked pizza’s.

  • The main one for me is from a photography point of view, I am in love with the variety of locations for those important mantelpiece portraits, you will be spoilt for choice – woodland, open fields & rolling hills, and the beautiful flowering meadow is perfect for some sunset shots! I always suggest to my couples to allow 20 minutes for your intimate portraits, but when I shoot at Glyngynwydd I could easily double that as there are so many locations – luckily, they are all in close proximity and as I am familiar with them, we can get them done in sharp time so you can be back celebrating with your guests! This time is also perfect for my couples to enjoy some quiet intimate time and to really absorb that they have just tied the knot! A re-boot before the real partying!

  • There are so many things that makes this wedding venue so special and another one is you can choose to get married in the licensed wood or the open barn! If you want the outdoor wild wedding feel then the woodland is the perfect place, typical British weather means the open barn area is a fantastic backup should it be too wet for the woods!

  • And new for 2023 is the wedding couple’s suite, so decadent and intimate a perfect space for getting wedding ready and your wedding night! Glyngynwydd can also accommodate 33 guests onsite between the cottages and the pods, with additional space for camping! So you really can enjoy a whole festival/glamping vibe weekend celebrating with your guests!  The nearest town is Llanidloes, still close enough for those guests who do not wish to stay on site.

  • The venue is also home to Carla, the most amazing host. Carla is always on hand to help couples plan their perfect day, and she's always happy to go the extra mile. She'll make sure that everything is perfect! I highly recommend!
