Lock-down Bridal Shoot 2020

Two different looks, over two days, how refreshing it was to work with a couple of humans and be behind the lens again.

If someone had said to me at the beginning of the year we would all be on a lock down for over 100 days, no weddings, no pub crawls, no hitting the shops not even being allowed to visit family I'd have said yeah right pull the other one! So, when it did happen I was expecting the aliens to land next! With the majority of my weddings re-scheduled until 2021 and more than halfway into the UK lock down restrictions life was getting a bit boring. I missed being behind the lens and shooting humans!

Chatting one night with Leanne from Serendipity Flowers we thought it would be great to put together a mini styled shoot, mainly to break the boredom and to exercise a little bit of creativity and so with a willing model and Leanne's amazing floral creations we did just that!

We were also lucky to have the super creative Suzanne of Ophelia Rose Hand Painted Jackets contribute with one of her amazing hand painted leather jacket, I love the leather jacket look with a wedding dress and Suzanne creates personalised hand-painted jackets to order, a completely unique keepsake along with your dress!!

Because of the strict social distancing there was no MUA or hair stylist; I think Cara our beautiful bride did a great job with her own makeup and hair!

First off, we went for a pure, clean look, the greens and whites of the avalanche rose, pampas grass, lisianthus, dried lunaria, fern and those scabious seed heads make the perfect bouquet. Shot in the countryside for a relaxed bohemian look, I love the mood that the rain created here.

Our second look was more urban feels, town and colour with the emphasis again on the amazing floral creations by Leanne, using peonies (I adore), blueberry roses, chochino spray roses, lisianthus, eryngium and asparagus ferns THE perfect look for a summer berries/pudding look. Shot on location in Welshpool, with the interior shots at The Bay Tree Vintage Tea Rooms, an ideal venue for the smaller intimate wedding. The focus mainly on the flowers for both looks and that amazing jacket!

Social distancing rules were observed at all times! And a big thank you to all involved. I am sure we are all looking forward to getting back to normal.. soon I hope!
